Playwriting, Screenwriting
Joy and Juliette
Margo recently has written the book and some of the songs for the jukebox musical comedy/drama, Joy and Juliette, drawing on the songs of her late friend and sometime collaborator, Tia Shawnté. The show is about two would-be artistes, a writer and a singer/songwriter, who, after facing many roadblocks, team up and take a chance on a second chance. Then, COVID strikes. The story becomes a tale of survival, perseverance, love, hope, junk food, and coming to terms with what ails you. The Mrs. and the Manatee
The Mrs. and the Manatee was the favorite comedy at the 10-Minute Play Festival in September 2022 at the Valerie Theatre in Inverness, Fla. It's about a velvet-painting artist, challenged to question her life's focus by a wise and vivacious manatee. When God Got Grumpy
at Christmas "When God Got Grumpy at Christmas" debuted at the Rainbow Springs Art Center in December 2023 for the center's inaugural "Holiday Afterwords: A Reader's Theater of Local Plays." It's about what happens when God gets tired of the "gimme, gimme" of the holidays and reassigns Santa to other duties. |
